KANUBARI, May 27: A training-cum-input distribution programme for farmers was conducted at Longhua village under Kanubari Circle of Longding district jointly by the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, AP Centre, Basar and KVK Longding on May 26 last.
A total of 45 farmers engaged in plantations of Khasi Mandarin and pineapple participated in the training which was organized under the NEC-funded project titled “Integrated Horticulture Including Fisheries for North East India.” I/c Head, KVK Longding Dr A. Kirankumar Singh highlighted the importance of various organic inputs which were distributed to the farmers for successful plantation of the above fruit plants. Methods of application and doses of various organic manures were also briefed to the participating farmers who showed great enthusiasm despite the pandemic.
After completion of the programme, Dr Singh also visited the pineapple field of a horticulture farmer in the village.
