KHONSA, Apr 3: In a major breakthrough, security forces arrested the prime accused involved in the Khonsa Jailbreak and murder of an IRBN Jawan in the wee hours of Monday.
In an official press statement, PRO Arunachal Police informed that based on intelligence input, an operation was launched to apprehend the two fugitives -- namely SS Pvt Roksen Homcha of NSCN-K(NS) who was arrested in connection with BDR PS C/No 04/2022 U/S 384 IPC R/W Section 10/13 UA(P) and convict Titpu Kitnya @Kitnal who was serving sentence in a murder case.
The operation was led by Arunachal Pradesh Police including Special Task Force supported by 6th Assam Rifles and 36th Bn Central Reserve Police Force. On 2nd April, six parties of APP consisting of five teams of Tirap Police,one team of STF,one team of 6 AR and 3 teams of 36th Bn CRPF and four teams of APP were engaged to cordon off the entire escape route. The cordon team was placed at Paniduria village, Naitong village, Pansumtong village and general area of Bogapani. After cordoning, an extensive search was conducted in all the suspected hideouts. In the wee hours of Monday, the hideout was located in an abandoned building at Bogapani near Borduria and the joint team apprehended the accused from the abandoned hut.
The accused was staying along with some labourers in the building. Sensing our presence the labourers fled the location but the team acted swiftly and apprehended the accused SS Pvt Roksen Homcha.The weapon snatched from late Ct Wangniam Bosai i.e., AK 47 along with 17 rounds has also been recovered.
The search operation to locate and apprehend the other escaped convict namely Titpu Kitnya @Kitnal is still underway by the joint team, added PRO-APP.

On March 26 last, one UTP Roksen Homcha Lowang of NSCN K(NS) and another convict Titpu Kitnya escaped from the Khonsa jail snatching the service AK 47 rifle of the IRBN jawan on duty and shooting him fatally.
