KHONSA, Jun 18: With the aim of mitigating the hardships faced by villagers waiting for buses, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of ‘DAO Division’ has built a bus waiting shed at Lamsa village in Tirap district which was inaugurated on June 13 last.
The project was conceptualized and completed by the Khonsa Battalion as a part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Project for the financial year 2018-19. During interactions with the villagers the need for a bus waiting shed was felt and the same was also projected by the GB, Raja of Lamsa village and other elders.
Construction of the shed, the first in this location will now greatly help the villagers while waiting for buses en-route to Tinsukia, since the area is prone to heavy rainfall from April to October. DIPRO
