TAWANG, Mar 15: The Khelo India Sports Competition for Tawang district with the theme ‘Peace and Development’ commenced today here at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium.
12 teams from various government schools and KGBVs of the district are participating in the competition organised by the District Administration and sponsored by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
EAC-cum-I/c District Sports Officer Tenzin Jambey inaugurated the tournament which is meant for children under 17 years of age. Track events began on the inaugural day with a 100 metre race for girls while the others like football and volleyball will be conducted at the Tawang Public school Ground from Tuesday.
The tournament will continue till March 18. DIPRO
