Taking a swipe at the Congress party, Khandu remarked that despite its long tenure in power, it had only promoted corruption and neglected the preservation of the nation’s rich cultural legacy. In contrast, he said, under Prime Minister Modi’s dynamic leadership, BJP has launched Mission Viksit Bharat, aimed at holistic development across the country.
Khandu also highlighted numerous developmental initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh, expressing gratitude to PM Modi for his consistent support. He pointed out that Arunachal Pradesh, being one of the largest and geographically toughest states in the Northeast, requires a focused approach for inclusive growth in the state with the support of team Arunachal.
Khandu called for leadership training at all levels—from MLAs and State Office Bearers (SOBs) to Morcha heads, district presidents, panchayat leaders, and grassroots workers—to build quality leadership and empower local governance. He emphasized a bottom-up planning model and the decentralization of funds to ensure effective development at the grassroots level.
He also revealed that mentor ministers have been appointed for each district to monitor developmental activities, urging them to regularly meet and coordinate with district party presidents during their visit. He urged party workers to promote and implement both state and central government schemes at the grassroots level,
He emphasised the importance of promoting merit-based leadership and expressed concern over the growing role of money culture in elections. Highlighting its potential to hinder genuine development, Khandu encouraged a collective effort from all sections of society to support fair and transparent electoral practices. He urged party workers to advocate for performance-driven elections.
Khandu revealed that the government may implement the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which mandates 33% reservation for women in legislative assemblies, by the 2029 Assembly Elections. As part of this initiative, the BJP aims to field 20 women candidates in the 2029 elections in the state assembly. He called upon party workers to begin identifying and mentoring potential women leaders to ensure the effective realization of this goal.
