ITANAGAR, Feb 22:

 

Chief Minister Pema Khandu today reviewed the progress of ‘Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission & Distribution in Arunachal Pradesh’.

 

The meeting was attended by Power Minister Tamiyo Taga, Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin and Commissioner Power Ashis Kundra, Ravi P Singh, Director (Personnel) Power Grid, Abhay Choudhary, Executive Director Power Grid NERTS, TC Sarmah, Executive Director (BDD) and other senior officials of the Power Grid Corporation were also present.

 

The comprehensive scheme for T&D distribution is being funded by Government of India at an estimated cost of Rs. 3200 crore involving Transmission Line of 132 kV Line (33 nos.) - covering about 1917 km including 33kV Line feeders (70 nos.) covering 1923 km. The scheme also includes 24 new Substations 132/33 kV and 70 new Substations of 33/11 kV.

 

The scheme is likely to be completed by end of the year 2019.

 

The Power Grid officials apprised the Chief Minister about the progress of the project and sought help in land acquisition, waiver of state levied taxes and duties etc. for the scheme.

 

The CM assured all help for early completion of the project and asked the corporation to ensure maximum benefit to the local people.

 

Various issues like training of local youths, training of officers of state power department were also discussed. The Power Grid agreed to consider various CSR projects in the field of hospitals, schools, community developments etc., details of which will be finalised after discussion with local officials.

 

The meeting also discussed for a possible joint venture between the state government and the corporation.

Optimum utilization of fund under DRDA stressed

 
AALO, Feb 22:

The Governing Body Meeting of West Siang DRDA was held under the Chairmanship of Yaman Bagra, Chairperson West Siang Zilla Parishad at DC’s Conference Hall today. 
Initiating the discussion, Bagra stressed on the need to make optimum utilization of fund under DRDA. She stressed on uploading MIS as fund flow from the Centre depends on our performances and emphasised on conduct of regular Gram Sabhas. ‘We have to show quality works to get more budgetary grant from the central government under various heads,’ she said. 

The West Siang Deputy Commissioner-cum-Member Secretary said that Governing Body is the apex body of the DRDA where AAP is finalised for the poor and needy people and all decisions taken in the Gram Sabhas should be placed before the government for approval. He insisted on quarterly review meeting with PRIs, elected representative and executing agencies to interact with each other and know the ground reality. ‘No doubt there exists few unsanctioned blocks where problem of man power exists,’ he said and asked BDOs to give their best to manage fund for the welfare of the needy people. 
The Project Director DRDA, JT Obi gave detail deliberation on physical and financial achievement on MGNREGA, IAY, PMAY 2016-17 and Draft AAP on Labour Budget 2017-18 through power point presentation. Tumpe Ete ZPM Pubu Yombu, who is always regular for such meeting reiterated that non attendance of many PRI leaders on such important meeting is a great cause of concern. The AAP for 2017-18 was finalised and approved on the occasion. DIPRO
