ITANAGAR, Jul 2: The Kayakalp Awards for outstanding health facilities in Arunachal Pradesh was announced today by the National Health Mission. The State Level Award Ceremony under Quality Assurance (NHM) was held on Sunday at a city hotel and was attended by Health Minister Alo Libang, along with MLA Nyamar Karbak. Secretary (H&FW) Liyon Borang and Vivek H.P, Special Secretary (H&FW) and Mission Director (NHM) were also present.
Tawang District hospital (Khando Drowa Sangmo District Hospital), was adjudged the best Kayakalp district hospital in the state while the community health center Ruksin in East Siang was adjudged the best CHC in the state, at the same time best primary health centre from each district was selected and awarded certificates namely -- PHC Yagrung, East Siang; PHC Jeying, Upper Siang; PHC Singchung, West Kameng; PHC Darak, West Siang; PHC Walong, Anjaw; PHC Kamhua Noknu, Longding; PHC Lhou Tawang; PHC Tarasso, Papum Pare; PHC Piyong, Namsai; PHC Khimiyong, Changlang; UPHC Rakap Colony, Capital Complex; Best HWC SC Dharampur, Namsai.
Besides commendation award was also conferred to facilities achieving 70% in External Assessment under Kayakalp, they are - Bakin Pertin General Hospital, East Siang District; DH Yingkiong, Upper Siang; CHC Kalaktang, West Kameng; CHC Kamba, West Siang; CHC Yomcha, West Siang; CHC Jang, Tawang; CHC Lumla, Tawang; CHC Sagalee, Papum Pare; CHC Yazali, Lower Subansiri; CHC Mahadevpur, Namsai; PHC Rani, East Siang; PHC Sille, East Siang;  PHC Bilat, East Siang; PHC Bagra, West Siang; PHC Mukto, Tawang.
The Kayakalp award carries cash prize of Rs 50 lakh for best district hospital, Rs 15 lakh for best CHC and Rs 2 lakh for best PHC and UPHC, Rs. 1 lakh for Best HWC-SC, Commendation award for DH – Rs. 3 lakhs, CHC 1 Lakh, PHC Rs. 50000.
National NQAS Certificate was also awarded to three District Health and Wellness Centres -- SC Dharampur Namsai; HWC SC Pobdi, West Siang; HWC SC Kombo Tarsu, West Siang-- which were given certification after two levels of assessment especially focusing on 8 areas of concern: service provision, input patient right, clinical services,support services, infection control, quality management & outcomes.  
Karbak, praised the three facilities under his constituency in West Siang district for achieving the certification and also to other awardees, stating that it will help to “transform the health scenario of Arunachal Pradesh”.
The Health Minister, congratulated all the health facilities for achieving the certification and praised the health workers for their dedication and hard work and exhorted them to maintain and further improve the quality of service.
Special Secretary (H&FW), Vivek HP also addressed the gathering. He requested the awardees to maintain the stature that they have achieved and to continue their zeal. “It has to be an expected norm that every health facility in the State should be Kayakalp awarded, as it is the minimum standard expected in a hospital," he said.
