ITANAGAR, Oct 22: Kara Welfare Society (KWS) has mourned the demise of prominent personality Taro Kena, who passed away at the age of 91 years, at his Itanagar residence on Friday after prolonged illness. Late Kena was serving as HGB of Adi Basti, Itanagar since 2002. 
Late Kena was a very sincere, peace loving and active person of Karga-Kara area in particular and the Galo community in general. He was the 1st generation contractor and pioneer member of Kara Society and he has contributed immensely for the up-gradation of society, the KWS said in a statement adding that he was loved and respected by all walks of life irrespective of any communities.
Born in 1931 at Riko Village of Baririjo circle under Upper Subansiri District, he settled at Zero point, Itanagar in the 1970s.  He was the land donor of present Mopin/Solung ground at Zero Point, Itanagar. Late Kena was also the first president of Mopin Festival celebration committee (MFCC) Itanagar 1981. 
The Kara Welfare Society  has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
