Itanagar, Oct 27: A consultative meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) between representatives of the Sports Authority of Arunachal, Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA), and the Directorate of Sports, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs.
The meeting aimed to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the 48th Yonex-Sunrise U-19 Junior Badminton Championship, scheduled to take place from November 18-24, in Itanagar.
Chairman SAA, John Neelam, appreciated ASBA's efforts in promoting badminton professionally and assured support from SAA and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
ASBA presented an overview of the event structure, expected participation, venue infrastructure, accommodation, transportation, logistics, and event management, including medical, security, and hospitality arrangements.
Around 32 states including UTs are expected to participate in the national badminton event, which is happening for the first time in the state.
A detailed presentation will be made to the government at the level of the Advisor (Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs) at an early date.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson, SAA, Tadar Bengia Yayang,
Nada Apa, Sports Officer (HQ) representing the Director of Sports and Executive Committee members of ASBA.
