ROING/MIAO/PASIGHAT, Apr 2: In a bid to turn Industrial Training Centres (ITIs), Roing and Balinong into green hubs, the new Director of Skill Development & Entrepreneur, Sibo Passing on Tuesday visited ITI Roing in Lower Dibang Valley and ITI Balinong in Miao under Changlang District and carried out a plantation drive.
The official conducted interactive sessions with staff and trainees separately in both the institutions. During the meetings shortcomings and other urgent issues of the institutions were discussed in detail and the Director assured to take up the matters to the concerned authorities for remedial actions which include campus boundary problems and erosion problems of Roing and Balinong ITIs respectively.
During the visit the Director advised the head of institutions to make the ITIs to be model institutions not only in the district but in the entire state in the field of campus greenery and cleanliness along with Skill Development. Director inspected the boundary of both ITIs which are threatened by encroachers and river erosion respectively. According to Passing, immediate action will be taken to retain the boundary of Roing ITI as the institution is an important asset of the state. Both the Principals R. C. Dutta (ITI Roing) and Er. Subash Pertin (ITI Balinong) appreciated the director's visit to their centre’s campus.
Altogether 100 Burmese grapes saplings at Roing ITI and 50 Jujube saplings at Balinong ITI were also planted on the day as an initial step to make the campuses greener.
