ITANAGAR, Jan 18:  The newly elected mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Tame Phassang today visited the IMC office at Niti Vihar and interacted with the officials.
Urging the IMC officials to pull up their socks for the next five years for making the ICR a better place to live, the new mayor said that every stakeholder from front desk clerks to mayor is important.  Irrespective of party affiliation, all corporators have to work with a better coordination with each other for all-round development of the IMC, he added. Acknowledging the grievances of denizens, Phassang stressed on concerted efforts to deliver the best civic services in a time-bound manner whenever they visit IMC offices. “We don’t have to look back at the mistakes we had made, but we should learn from them and focus on our future plans and policies for the welfare of citizens,” the new capital mayor contended. While informing that a joint meeting of all the corporators and IMC officials will be called soon for a proper discussion on the grievances, issues and problems of the IMC and to draw measures to overcome them, Phassang informed that a delegation of the newly elected corporators will meet the Chief Minister soon. Accompanied by deputy mayor Biri Basang, Commissioner IMC Cheechung Chukhu and other officials and corporators of various wards, the mayor inspected the sites of the proposed IMC office at Chandranagar, Six-Kilo and Papu Nalah.
