ITANAGAR, Oct 3: A three-day course on Juvenile Justice ( Care and Protection ) and POCSO Act 2012 for Investigating Officers(IO)  of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) commenced here at PTC, Banderdewa. Altogether 18 officers of the ranks of Sub Inspectors and Inspectors from various districts of the state are taking part in this capsule course. The course has been designed primarily to accustom the Investigating Officers regarding the various new amendments that have been inserted in the JJ Act 2015 and POCSO Act 2012 and also to address issues and roles of the police officers pertaining to handling of such cases.
Other topics that will be covered under the course are special Acts, Institutional intervention in enforcing and treating Children and Juveniles, Role of Police, handling of police case. Expert resource persons have been invited from the State Legal Aid Service Authority to impart professional training to the police officers.
In the address, Principal PTC Surendra Choudhary exhorted the participants to take full advantage of the course and become resource persons in their respective districts so that knowledge regarding these special Acts percolates to the grass root level. Among others present were DySP Dusu Kaling ( Course Co-ordinator), Inspector B.P. Alley, Inspector K.P. Sharma and others.
