Likabali, Sep 7: The United Nations International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies is being observed in Lower Siang District from September 7-10. The programme was launched today at District Hospital by Dr. Nyage Geyi,DMO in presence of health care staffers. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Geyi informed that the day is celebrated annually to create awareness about the importance of healthy air and the effects of air pollution which is one of the environmental threats on human health.
Dr. Gobuk Doke, District Programme officer briefed about the programme, the roles of doctors, nurses and ASHAs. He also informed that awareness activities will be done in selected schools of the district. (DIPRO)
