Itanagar, Dec 13: The District Administration and Women and Child Development (WCD) Department of Papum Pare District, in collaboration with the Itanagar Capital Region Police and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya, Yupia, organized an insightful exposure visit for 32 girl students to the Women Police Station and Ane’s Home in Itanagar. The visit was conducted today as part of the International Volunteer’s Day/Week 2024 celebrations under the Prime Minister’s flagship program, “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.”
During the visit, Inspector Nich Rupa, Officer-in-Charge of the Women Police Station, provided a comprehensive tour of the station and Ane’s Home, explaining the purpose and significance of each section. She highlighted the achievements of the first Women Police Station in the state, which stands as a beacon of safety and empowerment for women.
The students also had an engaging interaction with two young IPS officers, Vivek Maurya and Vibu Krishna, who conducted an awareness session on cybercrime. They emphasized the importance of vigilance in the digital age and shared practical insights on handling cybercriminals. The session was enriched with PowerPoint presentations and video clips, making it both informative and interactive.
This initiative underlines the commitment of the District Administration, WCD Department, and local police to inspire and educate young girls, empowering them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
