Yupia, Jun 6: To commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the District Administration and District ICDS Cell, Yupia, organized a Yoga session and a volleyball match for the inmates of AMA’s Vision Foundation Detoxification Centre, Yupia,.
The event was conducted under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) — a flagship initiative of the Government of India.
Speaking at the event, Jaya Taba, Deputy Director, District ICDS Cell, Yupia, lauded Taba Mangha, Managing Director of the Detoxification Centre, for his commendable efforts in rehabilitating individuals affected by substance abuse. 
She encouraged the inmates to embrace a healthy and addiction-free lifestyle. As a token of support, she distributed a water filter, indoor board games and fresh fruits on behalf of the District Administration, the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs, and the District ICDS Cell, Yupia.
The event also featured the NMBA Pledge, taken by both the inmates and the visiting officials, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free society. As part of the green initiative, the visiting team planted saplings within the premises of the detoxification centre.
Later a one-hour Yoga session was conducted by Yigam Basar, State Teacher Coordinator of the Art of Living Organization, Arunachal Pradesh, along with her team.
