ITANAGAR, Nov 20: International Child Rights Day celebration was organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) in collaboration with Childline Itanagar at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Vivek Vihar, Itanagar today. 
Chairperson, APSCPCR, Gumri Ringu in her keynote address emphasized the need to celebrate the Child Rights Day to create awareness among the masses about child rights and how to safeguard them.
Two docudramas, short films created by APSCPCR as part of awareness program was released by Dasanglu Pul, Advisor to Minister of WCD & SJETA, and it was screened during the program. She also appreciated the work being carried out by the child rights body.
C.N Longphai, Secretary, Home, WCD, SJETA & Prison (IG), highlighted the various schemes and policies of the state government to improve the welfare of the children especially Mission Vatsalaya Scheme. He also emphasized on the creation of mass awareness program to create safe, secure and sustainable environment for the children.
Sunil Mow, President, Indian Council for CWC, A.P emphasized the need for the convergence of all support systems for effective implementation of child welfare schemes and policies.
Ratan Anya, Chairperson, Oju Welfare Association highlighted the various child related schemes running under OWA, she said right to education is the most important because only through education, children can be empowered.
More than 200 cases of various issues recieved through Childline were attended to by the Child Line team.
The programme was attended by the CWCs, JJB, APWWS (CEC), DCPU, children of CCI, OWA.
