ITANAGAR, Mar 16: In a gesture which is bound to generate much goodwill, the Ministry of Railways has consented to rename the daily 15617 Naharlagun – Guwahati inter-city express as ‘Donyi-Polo Express’ with immediate effect .In its communiqué to the General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railways, the Ministry has informed that the 15617 inter-city express will be named as Donyi polo Express and the15613 Kamkhya-Murkongselek would be named ‘Lachit Express’ from now on.
On 20 February 2015, Arunachal was brought under the railway map with Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagging- off the first Naharlagun- New Delhi AC-express train in presence of the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu at Itanagar on the occasion of the 29th statehood day.
