Nirjuli, Jun 6: In a robust enforcement drive aimed at ensuring strict compliance with the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, the ICR Naharlagun Police today carried out intensified Inner Line Permit (ILP) checking operations across multiple locations including Papu Hills, Naharlagun, Nirjuli, and Banderdewa.
During the coordinated effort, police identified 219 individuals without valid ILP documents. Following verification, all violators were booked under non-FIR cases and presented before the Executive Magistrate. As per legal procedure, the individuals were subsequently externed from the Capital Region, Naharlagun.
Authorities noted a rising trend of ILP violations, particularly in markets, commercial establishments, and construction sites within the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR). The police urged the general public not to employ or engage any outsider lacking valid ILP documents, and to immediately report any suspected violations to the nearest police station.
The ILP enforcement drive will remain a regular and ongoing process in the coming days. The police advised all non-APST individuals residing or working in the region to carry valid ILPs at all times and cooperate fully with law enforcement personnel to avoid legal action.
