WAKRO, May 5: The Prasanta Borkakoty Prakalp of the Beena Ghose Roy Scheme by the Anu Shiksha Seva Trust was launched by Maj Gen Manpreet Singh Bains, the General Officer Commanding the army division in the region on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima. Distinguished leaders of the Arunachal Pradesh Police IGPs CK Mein and Isaac Pertin who joined the GOC in launching the initiative which is named in honouring the Oil India Limited, Duliajan and its present Resident Chief Executive Prasanta Borkakoty appreciated the Anu Shiksha Seva Trust for the service.
The Anu Shiksha Seva Trust will provide games and sports items to promote games and sports in rural areas and among the youth on May 29 every year in appreciation and gratitude for the community service by the Oil India Limited rendered in the region. The Trust also intends to provide assistance under the Prasanta Borkakoty Prakalp to government schools as well.
The ASSET thanked the Dao Division of the Indian Army for coming up with the bright effective idea to combat drug abuse by promoting games and sports in an effort to wean the youth from the harmful effects of drug addiction, drug abuse, crime and anti social activities. The ASSET also thanked Shatabdi Mahanta, CGM Borgohain, General Manager Debashish Bora, Col Arun, Col S Singh and Rudra Dutta for the support rendered for the launch of the Prasanta Borkakoty Prakalp.
