ITANAGAR, Sep 6: Education Minister Taba Tedir today informed the Assembly that the state government has started infrastructure developments in 8 Inter-Village (IV) schools across the state under Mission Shiksha in the first phase through executing agency-- Urban Development & Housing department. The schools are – GUPS Kuntse, Tawang, GMS Balemu, West Kameng, GUPS Khodaso, Pakke Kessang, GUPS Ruchi Korong, East Kameng, GUPS Tapiaso, Papum Pare, GPS Delipaji, Lower Subansiri, GMS Ampongne, Kurung Kumey and GUPS Mite in Kamle district.
The minister was replying to a query raised by Borduria-Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong on status of Mission Shiksha Schools in the state with reference to IV school Paniduria in Tirap district.
Tedir told that out of 25 IV schools proposed, only 8 have been identified and taken up for infrastructure development, while rest would be taken up on allocation of fund from the government. An amount of Rs 10 Crore was received under the Mission Shiksha from the state government during 2021-22, while Rs 12 Crore from SASCI during 2022-23, he said, adding that till date in total Rs 22 Crore has been received and released against the total requirement amount of Rs 33.94 Crore for ongoing 8 IV Schools.
Raising a supplementary, Kanubari MLA Gabriel D. Wangsu called for need based identification of project sites and framing of requisite criterias for proper implementation of such projects by all works departments.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, while replying to a question of MLA Wanglin Lowangdong on district quota for government jobs, told the house that the state government had notified 80% reservation policy in group C and D posts against direct recruitment at district level,   but the matter is subjudice in Guwahati High Court due to which vacancies of around 710 are yet to be filled up. Staff Selection Board (SSB) has been set to regulate the recruitment process through proper mechanism and transparency, the Chief Minister said, adding the government is looking into ways to provide opportunities in jobs to all communities through district quota.
