LIKABALI,Dec 14:  In a landmark initiative to promote unity and cultural understanding, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps flagged off a Religious and Pilgrimage Tour under Operation Sadbhavna from the Likabali Military Station. The tour, consisting of 20 pilgrims, was inaugurated by Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding of 3 Corps.
The journey, which spans from Tuting to Tawang, aims to highlight the spiritual and cultural richness of Arunachal Pradesh while strengthening communal bonds across diverse communities. Organized by the Eastern Command’s Spear Corps, the initiative reflects the Army’s dedication to fostering harmony and enhancing connectivity with local populations in remote areas.
The flag-off event saw an enthusiastic gathering of Army personnel, local leaders, and the pilgrims themselves, who expressed heartfelt appreciation for this extraordinary opportunity. Addressing the audience, Lt Gen Pendharkar underscored the importance of initiatives like these in bridging cultural gaps and strengthening the fabric of the nation. He reaffirmed the Army’s steadfast commitment to the peace and progress of the Northeast.
The tour’s itinerary includes iconic destinations like the Tawang Monastery, a symbol of Buddhist spirituality and one of India’s most renowned monasteries. Along the route, participants will also witness the serene natural beauty and rich traditions of the region, gaining a deeper connection to Arunachal Pradesh’s heritage.
This initiative exemplifies the Army’s core value of “Nation First,” reinforcing its role as a pillar of unity and development,stated a release.
