Rayang, Feb 10: Spearhead Division of Spearcorps of Indian Army conducted a three day visit of 10 IAS Probationary Officers at Rayang Military Station from January 31 to February 2. This aimed at familiarising the officer trainees with the realities of soldiering in forward areas along the frontier in Arunachal Pradesh.
During the programme, the trainees were exposed to operational conditions prevalent in high-altitude and remote frontier areas. They witnessed demonstrations of infantry weapons and surveillance equipment, including unmanned aerial systems and were briefed on their employment in contemporary operational scenarios.
The trainees also observed firing practices and training activities, gaining insight into preparedness, discipline and standard operating procedures followed by troops deployed in forward areas.
Meaningful interactions with officers and soldiers provided the trainees a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by troops, their operational responsibilities and the ethos of the Indian Army.
This enhanced their appreciation of frontline challenges, strengthened mutual respect and deepened national security awareness, while reinforcing the importance of effective Military-Civil cooperation.
The programme contributed towards fostering informed leadership by providing young civil servants a realistic perspective on national security and the dedication of soldiers safeguarding the nation’s frontiers.
