Anini, Dec 12: Under Operation Sadbhavana, troops of Spear Corps, Indian Army at Anini along with Dibang Valley Cricket Association have launched the Fifth Edition of Dibang Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament at Anini, Dibang Valley.
After massive success of local cricket tournament in Anini and with growing cricket fever, the Indian Army collaborated with local cricket Association to conduct Dibang Premier League(DPL). 
The tournament has gained popularity over last four years and has become a household name. However this year the Indian army under its Operation Sadbhavana initiative conducted this event enhancing the scale of the Tournament exponentially.
The tournament comprises of fourteen teams including teams from five vibrant villages of Dibang Valley. DPL will be played for next two weeks with finals scheduled on 26 December. The tournament is being played under the banner of Operation Sadbhavana - the face of Civil-Military fusion for development of Border Areas and villages in Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh. 
The tournament also promotes ‘Clean Dibang, Green Dibang’ theme where the plastic free Dibang initiative is driven by usage of waste plastic as boundary cushions. Also the tournament promotes a ‘Drug Free Dibang’ by motivating the youth and diverting their talent and energy towards Sports and weeding them away from Drugs.
The tournament kicks off at New Stadium, Anini between Winners of the Fourth Edition of DPL; Dibang Valiants and a team from Vibrant Village of Malinye- Malinye Magnificants. 
The tournament promises thrill, excitement & exuberance for the sport and reflects the rich talent in Dibang Valley which needs to be provided a platform under the noble cause of Operation Sadbhavana.
The local community has appreciated the initiative by Indian Army and are fully supportive of the Initiative.
