PASIGHAT, Mar 31: In a significant outreach aimed at inspiring youth and strengthening the civil-military connect, Spearhead Gunners, under the aegis of Spearhead Division, conducted a “Know Your Army” event at Sigar Military Station as part of Project NAVBHARAT.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the College of Horticulture and Forestry, East Siang, and the College of Agriculture, East Siang, who were provided with a rare and immersive glimpse into the ethos, capabilities and operational framework of the Indian Army.
A key highlight of the programme was an extensive equipment display, showcasing a range of modern military systems and indigenous defence technologies, thereby offering participants valuable insights into the Army’s technological advancements and operational preparedness. The experience was further enhanced through supervised exposure to small arms firing, allowing students to appreciate the precision, discipline and responsibility inherent in military training.
The outreach also featured a series of ‘Join Indian Army’ motivational lectures and audio-visual presentations, designed to inform and inspire participants about the diverse career avenues in the Armed Forces. In addition, informative lectures on Operation Sindoor were conducted, providing attendees with deeper insight into the planning, execution and significance of military operations, and the professionalism that underpins them.
Interactive engagements with Army personnel added depth to the programme, enabling students to gain firsthand perspectives on military life, leadership values and the spirit of service before self.
