ITANAGAR, Apr 22:

In a case of hit and run, a minor girl aged around 18 years was killed and another youth accompanying her was severely injured on the stretch of road between Niti Vihar and Bank Tinali on Saturday evening at around 5pm.

According to onlookers, the duo were crossing the Highway on their way to Energy park when an over speeding white Hyundai Santro car lost control and knocked them from behind and fled from the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Namey Taku, who succumbed to injuries at the spot, while the condition of the boy is reported to be critical and currently being treated at a city hospital.

Police has registered a case of accidental death and have launched a hunt to trace the car.
