ITANAGAR, Aug 7: In a significant step towards ensuring universal immunization coverage, 5.0 version of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) was officially launched across the state today.
Deputy Commissioner of Itanagar Capital Complex, Talo Potom launched the event at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Chimpu which was attended by senior health officials including Dr. Mandip Perme, DMO-ICC, Dr. Krishna Welly, DRCHO-ICC and Dr. Tage Taka MO NHM.
The Intensified Mission Indradhanush initiative, a flagship program of the Government of India, aims to achieve 90% immunization coverage for children and pregnant women across the nation. Under the leadership of the DC, launch of IMI 5.0 signifies a renewed commitment towards ensuring the health and well-being of the community.
Speaking at the event, Potom emphasized the importance of immunization in safeguarding the health of the population, particularly the vulnerable sections. He expressed gratitude to partners, WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, and JSI, for their support in making the campaign a success and urged health workers to achieve 100% immunization coverage.
Dr. Mandip Perme, DMO-ICC, highlighted the collaborative efforts involved in the IMI 5.0 program and acknowledged the crucial role played by PRI leaders and local communities. Dr. Krishna Welley, DRCHO-ICC, added that the IMI 5.0 launch signifies a collective endeavor to leave no child or mother unvaccinated and urged the community to actively participate in the vaccination drive.
The launch of Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 at PHC-Chimpu marks a milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance immunization coverage and improve the overall health and well-being of the citizens of Itanagar Capital Complex. The program's comprehensive approach, combined with the collaboration of various stakeholders, is poised to bring about positive change and create a healthier and more resilient community.
ZIRO: The Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0, a vaccine catch-up campaign dedicated to providing immunization to zero-dose children aged between 0 and 5 years along with pregnant women who may have missed any vaccine doses in the National Immunization Schedule for Lower Subansiri was successfully launched at Gyati Takka General Hospital today.
The campaign was inaugurated by Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime in presence of State Immunization Officer Dr. Dimong Padung and Dr. Subasis Saha, Technical Consultant (Immunization Division) Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India who is in the District as the National Monitor for IMI 5.0
Launching the campaign, DC Bamin Nime exemplified the campaign's commitment by personally administering the inaugural vaccine dose of oral polio vaccine to a child.
He urged all health staff workers to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that every child in the District receives the necessary vaccinations. The DC expressed his wholehearted support and assured to extend all assistance to make this initiative a resounding success. He also commended the hardworking health team for their dedication in providing superior healthcare services and acknowledged the significant improvements in health services within the District.
State Immunization Officer Dr. Dimong Padung stressed the pressing need to improve immunization coverage in the state by setting a commendable target of achieving above 90% full immunization. While acknowledging the positive progress in some Districts, he highlighted the importance of addressing the gaps in other Districts. Dr. Padung called upon the ASHAs to play a pivotal role in ensuring no child in their respective areas is left unvaccinated and emphasized the critical impact of their efforts in safeguarding the health of the community.
District Medical Officer Dr. Tage Kanno and Dr. Subasis Saha also shared their insights on the occasion stressing the significance of collective efforts in achieving comprehensive immunization coverage. They also explained that this ambitious campaign marks a milestone in India's commitment to ensuring every child and expectant mother receives the protection they deserve through life-saving vaccinations.
IMI 5.0, spanning the entire nation, is set to be carried out in three phases. The first phase is scheduled from August 7 to 12 followed by the second phase from September 11 to 16 and the concluding third phase from October 9 to 14. (DIPRO).
TEZU: DMO Lohit Dr. C.L. Manchay launched 1st phase of Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 and U-WIN Portal at Zonal General Hospital, Tezu today.
DMO Lohit informed that the primary objective of IMI 5.0 is to enhance immunization coverage for all vaccines specified in the National Immunization Schedule. This immunization campaign will be supported by the U-Win platform, which ensures effective tracking of beneficiaries including children aged 0-5 and pregnant women.
Further, he addressed that the ground-level staff along with ASHAs and Anganwadi workers, play a vital role in reaching out to beneficiaries and facilitating their registration on the U-Win portal.
