ITANAGAR, Jul 13: A team of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) led by Mayor Tame Phassang left for Guwahati on Wednesday to meet the officials of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and to study various projects of the GMC.
"During the visit, the team of IMC will hold a meeting with Commissioner and officials of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) to study their organization structure, jurisdiction demarcation between Municipal Commissioner & District Collector/Deputy Commissioner, Police & Superintendent of Police," informed the Mayor.
Acknowledging the challenges of parking, solid waste management in Itanagar, Mayor said the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has more than 30 lakh population and in comparison to IMC has more challenges. "So we have decided to visit GMC to understand and learn their parking modalities, Implementation of SMART City Project, Solid Waste Management, Building Laws and others," said Phassang.
Director ULBs Liyi Bagra, Commissioner IMC Likha Tejji, Deputy mayor Biri Basang, Engineers and other officials are part of the team.
