GUWAHATI, July 15: In view of the increasing traffic congestion and parking problems in the Itanagar Municipal Corporation jurisdiction as well as proposed parking lots, today team of IMC led by Mayor Tame Phassang visited the Automated Multi-Level car Parking System at Guwahati.
During the visit, the team including engineers minutely observed the system that can accommodate at least hundreds of cars in a limited space.
“Besides garbage management, Parking is another challenge for IMC, and we know that in coming days it will double, so we have a plan to create parking lots in the IMC jurisdiction,” said the Mayor.
However, before taking any steps we have decided to study practically what would be the best system to manage parking in the capital region, he added.
Earlier, the team also called on Mrigen Sarania, the Mayor of Guwahati Municipal Corporation(GMC) at his office and discussed various issues related to the Corporation.
