ITANAGAR, Aug 19: A 12-member Central Executive Team of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) conducted a two day tour of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh (TCL Districts) on August 16-17 last. The team led by the President Er. Katung Wahge along with all the senior members of the society covered all the important centres like Kanubari, Longding, Khonsa and Changlang besides interacting with the inmates of the Home Care Centre at Charju near Khonsa.
While interacting with the locals and the leaders of indigenous believers, the team tried to gather firsthand information and understand various bottlenecks in preservation and promotion of age-old ancestral practices and belief systems that lead to rapid declining of the true face of the tribal identities. The President also exhorted all the stakeholders to pay attention to promotion of local language through which age-old culture, beliefs, folklores, folktales, customs and traditions can only be revived and sustained in line with the Nyubu Nyvgam Yerko (NNY) of Rang (Seppa) and Mwya under Yachuli for the Nyishis, Menjwk-Mengkok Rwguu (MMR) of Basar for the Galos, etc, where children are taught traditional knowledge system while being imparted  modern education (CBSE Curriculum) through the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV).
Wahge, also appealed to all to pay mutual respect to other’s religious beliefs and practices while maintaining purity of one’s own.
