GUWAHATI, May 10: A milestone in the history of world cinema, Glass will be screened at Guwahati Press Club for the benefit of its member-journalists Friday afternoon. It may be noted that non-verbal documentary Glass was made in 1958 by Bert Haanstra, an eminent European film maker. The Oscar-winning documentary brilliantly contrasts glassblowing techniques used inside
the Royal Leerdam glass factory with modern machines. The first half depicts experienced men at work using traditional glassblowing to create glass utensils. The second part focuses on industrial and mass
production of glass items.
