Cancel Jeju Institute's license, Suspend APPSC Chairman, Board Members: ACF

ITANAGAR, Sep 16:  A mass protest rally was taken out in the state capital on Friday against the reported paper leakage incident of the recently conducted examination for Assistant Engineer (Civil) by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). Hundreds of people comprising students, NGOs, students organization  and members of  the state unit of Anti Corruption Foundation (ACF) joined the rally demanding  re-conduct of the examination, proper investigation by the SIT/SIC, cancellation of Jeju Institute's license, suspension of the Commission Chairman, Secretary including Board members.
“For a fair investigation, we demand suspension of the Chairman, Secretary and Board members of the Commission.  Justice should be delivered to the aggrieved aspirants and the state government should ensure that no such issue arises in any recruitment in near future,”  ACF Vice Chairman, Taba Pol said to reporters.

He also said the state government should refrain from appointing the Chairman and other members of the Commission with political background. Likewise, board members for technical examinations should also be from the same background and appointed by the education department, he said.
Meanwhile, an aspirant said that re-conducting only the mains examination won't be fair as there could have been foul play in the prelims as well.
"If only the mains examination is re-conducted, it will provide a space for the commission to continue such practice in future exams too. Therefore, the state government and the commission should re-conduct the entire examination process," he added.  

Police arrests five persons in paper leak case

ITANAGAR: Capital Police arrested five persons in connection with the paper leakage of the Assistant Engineer (Civil) examination conducted recently by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Superintendent of Police, ICR, Jimmy Chiram disclosed that two alleged accused Akhilesh Yadav and a student of Jeju Institute were arrested on September 11 last, and today three more people have been arrested.
Based on the complaint lodged by one of the aspirants regarding paper leakage,  police registered a criminal case vide ITA/PS Case No. 229/2022 U/s 120-B/420/406/406/409 IPC on 10-September last.

Those found involved will face the music: Khandu 

ITANAGAR: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has taken strong exception to the reported paper leakage incident of the recently conducted examination for Assistant Engineer (Civil) by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Reiterating that the state government will not tolerate any kind of corruption, Khandu said anyone found involved in the latest incident, irrespective of his or her position or status, will not be spared. "It is indeed frustrating that despite our sincerest efforts to streamline the recruitment process, incidents like this occur out of the blues. I assure the candidates and the people that action will be taken against the guilty and the point of leakage investigated and rectified so that it is not repeated in future,” Khandu said in a statement here this evening.
The Chief Minister sent out a stern warning to all, both government officials and private individuals, not to interfere in the recruitment process for their personal gains.“I repeat, no form of corruption in any field will be tolerated. Those found involved will have to face the music. Period,” he added. Khandu further added that the state government is committed to strengthen both the APSSB and the APPSC and make the two recruiting agencies robust and corruption free.
