Watte, Jul 17: Minister for Home, PHE & WS, Mama Natung today visited the ongoing construction site of the Agriculture College at Watte under Bana Circle in East Kameng District.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the people of Watte for their generous donation of 33 hectares of land towards the establishment of the Agriculture College. “I am very much grateful to the people of Watte for their generosity to donate 33 hectares of land for the establishment of the Agriculture College in the greater interest of the District and the State,” said Natung.
During the visit, the Minister also laid the foundation stones for a 150-metre span RCC Bridge over the Kameng River, which will connect Kafla to the Agriculture College, and a Dedicated Water Supply Project for the Government Agriculture College at Watte.
While appreciating the executing agency PWD for achieving 30% of the project work ahead of schedule, the Minister said the establishment of the Agriculture College would significantly boost agricultural education opportunities and contribute to the socioeconomic development of East Kameng and the State at large.
Natung was accompanied by several dignitaries, including ZPM 11-Watte Pritam Yangda Neri, ZPM 9-Papu Valley Lada Tayem, Secretary Agriculture Samuel Changkija, Joint Secretary PWD Mika Nyori, DC East Kameng Himanshu Nigam, Director (M&E), Finance, Planning & Investment Mokir Eshi Ori, CE PWD (W/Z) Gamnya Padu, CE PHE & WS Toko Jyoti, Director Agriculture N. Debia, Joint Director Agriculture T. Angu, DAO (Development) Nitum Riba, SP East Kameng Kamdum Sikom, DAO Seppa Miram Perme, SDAO Sipai Bayang, along with field officers of PWD, senior public leaders, Gaon Buras and other local stakeholders.
The visit marks a significant milestone in the Government’s continued efforts toward inclusive development, capacity building in higher education, and improved connectivity and public service delivery in rural Arunachal Pradesh.
