ITANAGAR, Oct 28 : The Guwahati High Court,  Itanagar Bench today extended another three weeks on the PIL  No.13/2022 ( Kaku Potom vs State of Arunachal Pradesh) related to the alleged Rs. 142 crore scam under the central project--Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) in Arunachal Pradesh filed by one  Kaku Potom.
Speaking to reporters after appearing before the High Court on Friday, Senior Advocate Nalo Pada informed that after 45 days the hearing was fixed for today but the private respondents No. 10 & 11 failed to file their affidavit. "The representative of the Respondent No. 10  Nirvana Enterprises &  respondent  No. 11 –DM Enterprise have sought four weeks time but we have objected to it and pleaded with the court to give a short time as the matter is related to public grievances.Upon hearing our plea, Court conferred only three weeks to both respondents," he said. 
When asked about the delay in filing the affidavit by the respondent No. 10 & 11, Advocate Nalo Pada informed that both the representatives told the court that they come from Guwahati and were not able to get the required papers to file affidavit on time.  "Such excuse is a delaying tactic, but we believe that it will not work every time, as now every paper is being sent through speed post that takes a minimum of two days to reach Guwahati," he said.

"They have raised the question on merit and  maintainability of the  PIL, and our effort is to plead with the court to fix the PIL for final hearing as soon as possible," stated Pada while informing that no new or additional affidavit has been filed by the state government till now.
Public Interest Litigation (13/2022) was filed in the Guwahati  High Court –Itanagar Bench before Justice SK Medhi and Justice Kakheto Sema praying for registering a criminal case as well as a judicial inquiry on the mismanagement of funds meant for the project under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY) pertaining to three districts -West Kameng, Tawang and Namsai worth Rs. 142.74 crores.
