Itanagar, Feb 16: The History department of Dera Natung Government College today kicked off the second edition of India Heritage Walk Festival (IHWF-2019) in Itanagar by conducting heritage walk at Gekar Sinyi.
33 participants took part in the walk titled, “Exploring Folklores at Gekar Sinyi” which was led by Assistant Professor of History Duli Ete, and graced by HoD Tsering Yangjom.
IHWF-2019 is a month-long pan-Indian event organized jointly by Sahapedia (sahapedia.org), an encyclopedia of Indian arts and culture, and UNESCO-New Delhi office. This year, the festival is celebrated across 35 cities and History Department, DNGC, Itanagar has collaborated with them as one of the official partners to continue its commitment of heritage outreach programme.
Itanagar is among the three cities in North-East India to be part of this pan- Indian celebration
The Department has curated another walk titled ‘Celebrating Heritage of Arunachal Pradesh at State Museum’ scheduled to be held on February 23.
