BOLENG, Apr 23: The constituency level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy 2016-17 (football and volleyball tournament for both men and women) for Siang District being organised by the Department of Sports got underway today at Rumgong. 

Opening match was played between teams from Jomlo-Mobuk Circle and Rumgong Circle in which the former emerged victorious by 4-3. 

The Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy named after Ashoka Chakra Awardee Late Havildar Hangpan Dada and formerly known as CM's Trophy is a scheme under CM’s flagship programme to encourage and empower especially the rural youth in the field of games and sports.
