ITANAGAR, Jul 31: The NSCN/GPRN/Wancho Region has refuted claims by the 40 Assam Rifles and Longding police regarding fourteen active cadres of various NSCN groups surrendering before them on July 28 last.
In a press communiqué, one W. Wangsa, claiming to be the Central Administrative Officer of NSCN/Government of the Peoples of Nagalim (GPRN) Wancho Region stated that the NSCN/GPRN/Wancho Region along with the public refuted the claim of the security forces.
This is not the first time and such a false statement has been made by the AR (Assam Rifles). Such statement is only advocating confusion among the general public of TCL Region. The cadres whom they arrested were discharged from active service due to unavoidable circumstances like family problem and health issues, asserted CAO, W. Wangsa.
He further claimed that the public whom the security forces have arrested were discharged from their active service five to twenty years ago. However, 40 AR (Assam Rifles) and Longding police forcefully picked up the said discharged cadres from their respective residence. Even after confession, they were threatened with dire consequences to accept as the surrendered cadres of NSCN-IM, the statement reads.
