ITANAGAR, Dec 18: In a major breakthrough in the alleged misappropriation of compensation funds linked to the Lada–Sarli Frontier Highway project, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Arunachal Pradesh, has arrested a government official following a detailed investigation.
According to an official press release issued by the ACB, Civil Secretariat, Itanagar, a case (ACB PS Case No. 13/2025) was registered based on a complaint jointly submitted by members and office bearers of the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA), East Kameng Unit, Seppa, alleging large-scale irregularities in the disbursement of compensation funds for the highway project.
After thorough scrutiny of documents, interrogation of concerned individuals, and technical analysis, the ACB arrested the accused on December 17, 2025. The arrested official has been identified as Takam Kechak (45), serving as DLRSO, East Kameng.
The ACB stated that the investigation into the alleged misappropriation of compensation funds is ongoing and all aspects of the case are being examined in detail. The bureau emphasized that further action will be taken based on evidence that emerges during the course of the probe.
The arrest comes amid sustained pressure from ANYA, which has been demanding transparency, reverification of compensation packages, recovery of misused funds, and strict legal action against those found guilty in connection with the Lada–Sarli Frontier Highway project.
