ITANAGAR, Jul 2: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein acknowledged the immense contribution of senior doctors and modern health facilities, premier hospitals like RK Mission Hospital and TRIHMS, to the people of the State.  Mein said that the state-of-the-art facilities and modern equipment available at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) is a matter of pride for Arunachal Pradesh. He further said that the State government is committed to strengthening the healthcare delivery system across the state by investing in it and enhancing the capacity of staffers.
The DyCM was speaking at the National Doctor's Day celebration on Saturday in Itanagar. The event aimed to recognize and appreciate doctors' invaluable contributions to society and to raise awareness of their importance in saving lives and promoting public health. The theme for this year's National Doctors Day is "Celebrating Resilience and Healing Hands" and the event sought to acknowledge and commend the remarkable efforts of medical professionals.
Addressing the gathering, Mein added that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh under CM Pema Khandu has kept healthcare and education sector in top priority. He said that the government will extend support to the medical fraternity in every possible way citing the contributions of the medical personnel in  creating a healthy society. He further assured to provide required additional fund for completion of the Indian Medical Association, House (Arunachal Branch).
Mein also highlighted the enactment of "The Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Medical Service Personnel and Medical Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss of Property) Act 2019" which was passed to ensure the safety and security of medical professionals. Mein appealed to all the citizens across the State to support medical personnel and try to understand the situation they go through in their efforts to save lives.
Mein also called upon all healthcare  professionals to sincerely work together to further uplift the healthcare delivery system.
On the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister also felicitated senior doctors and Ayang Foundation of East Siang District for their sincere dedication and outstanding contributions towards delivering healthcare services to the needy people of the State.
The event was also attended by Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Alo Libang, Director TRIHMS, Dr. Moji Jini and senior doctors of the State among others.
