DOIMUKH, Jul 31:The Government College Doimukh was finally shifted from its makeshift campus at Government Higher Secondary School, Doimukh to its permanent site at Midpu today.

The college formally started functioning on 12th July 2012 in a makeshift campus initially at Lekhi, near Nirjuli and later on shifted to the campus of Govt. Hr. Secondary School, Doimukh before finally relocated to its permanent site on Monday. The college was struggling for its permanent campus since the beginning and in the process a number of places were identified and tried but could not materialized.

In fact, the permanent site was previously used by Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and on the expiry of its leased period, the District Administration has allotted the said land for establishment of Government College Doimukh in 2016. Spreading over 13 acres of total land, the present site of the college is a picturesque and quite ideal for academic institution.
