ITANAGAR, Mar 5: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, emphasised on border area development programmes (BADP) to instil a sense of security amongst the people living in remote areas. He further asked the army authorities to take up civic-action programmes for the welfare of common masses, besides working towards fostering goodwill among them for the armed forces.
Parnaik said this at Raj Bhawan on Sunday when the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 56 Infantry Division, Major General V.K Purohit called on him.
During the meeting, they interacted upon many pertinent issues in regards to infrastructure, livelihood and vibrant villages programmes in border areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
The GOC also briefed the Governor on the activities taken up by their Army Division in the districts covering Siang, Subansiri and Kurung Kumey belt.
