ITANAGAR, Dec 30: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) condoled the demise of Heeraben Modi, mother of PM Narendra Modi, and conveyed sincere and heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
I join the people of Arunachal Pradesh in praying to Almighty God to give eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss, the Governor said in his letter.
The State BJP held a condolence meeting for Heeraben Modi, at its party office. Member of Parliament Tapir Gao among others attended the condolence meeting and paid his tributes.
Heeraben Modi passed away at 4.40.am this morning at the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She was admitted at the facility after her health deteriorated.
She was an epitome of hard work and simplicity. She always advised others to live a life of simplicity and purity. With her, we have lost a guiding force in the BJP family, the BJP Arunachal Pradesh said in a statement.
