ITANAGAR, Jul 27: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General  KT Parnaik (Retd.) chaired a review meeting of the Central and State Governments’ sponsored schemes, projects and programmes at Bomdila on Thursday. West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar, Superintendent of Police Sudhanshu Dhama, and Heads of Department briefed the Governor about the projects and programmes being implemented and stages of progress of works.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor emphasised on the need for management of Data of various schemes in the District. He said automation of data is key for proper analysis, planning and project implementation. He urged the district Heads of department to have software applications that can network data from villages, circles and districts with the State Government.
The Governor urged the District HoDs to utilize the funds optimally, imbibe professional efficiency and eradicate corruption.  
Terming health, education and agriculture as important sectors which need focus for overall prosperity of the State, he urged the district officers to find innovative ways to move ahead in these sectors.
Stating that West Kameng has huge potential for tourism, the Governor asked the officers to develop good infrastructure, information facilities and skilling of youth for tourism ventures. He stressed on preservation of tourist places in their natural form and to keep the environment neat and clean.
Expressing his concern on school drop-outs, Parnaik said that it is not a good sign. He said that effort should be made to address the challenge as it will have adverse effects on the development of the State. He asked the officers to create awareness starting from village level and create an educational environment.
The Governor exhorted the departments to spend time with vibrant villages to understand their needs and facilitate and improve their living conditions.
The Governor, who is monitoring the mission to eradicate tuberculosis, cancer and drug addiction in the State, exhorted the district officers to join hands in the mission and participate in the national movement in eradicating these from the State.
