PASIGHAT, Aug 22: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), who is on a two-day tour to East Siang District chaired a review meeting of the Central and State Governments' sponsored schemes, projects and programmes at Pasighat on Tuesday.
Addressing the Heads of Department, the Governor urged upon the district heads of department to perform, reform and transform. He advised them to incorporate this spirit in their works.
The Governor asked the district officials to make their department efficient, technology enabled and treat their responsibilities to improve it further. He also asked them to add professional values to their work and have regular field visits, while stating that there is a need for encouraging innovative ideas.
The Governor emphasised on the paramount importance of data management for efficient administration and project execution. He stressed the role of automation in data analysis, planning, and implementation, urging the district authorities to deploy software applications that can seamlessly integrate data from villages, circles, and districts with the State Government.
Expressing his concern over school drop-outs, the Governor highlighted the adverse effects of this trend on the State's development. He implored officials to embark on an awareness campaign starting at the village level, creating an environment that fosters education and learning. He also expressed his concern about drug menace in the State and called for concerted effort by one and all.
The Governor suggested involvement of the community, especially the Gaon Burahs in maintaining cleanliness and solid waste management.
Earlier, East Siang District Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, Superintendent of Police, Sumit Kr, Jha and Heads of Department gave a detailed presentation to the Governor about the Central Government and State Government projects and programmes, which are being implemented in the district and also stages of progress of works.
