Itanagar, Mar 31: Conceptualized by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), to celebrate the State's rich cultural heritage, the maiden episode of the cultural presentation, titled ‘Arunachal Pradesh Sanskriti, Parampara aur Kala Tayohar’, was held at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, on March 30. Troupes, representing various tribes, including Monpa, Adi, Puroik, Wancho, and Nyishi, participated in the event, showcasing the vibrant traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor highlighted Arunachal Pradesh's immense cultural wealth, expressed through its music, dance, and folk traditions. He reaffirmed Raj Bhavan’s commitment to promoting local artists and cultural groups through initiatives under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program.
The Governor was particularly impressed by the performances of the women participants, acknowledging their leadership across various fields. He praised the women of Arunachal Pradesh for their resilience and self-reliance, emphasizing their role in driving sustainable development for their families and the state. Their dedication and spirit, he said, are keys to realizing the vision of ‘Viksit Arunachal’.
The Department of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, organized the event. Special invitees, dignitaries, Raj Bhavan officers and staff, and their families attended the cultural presentation, making it a memorable celebration of the State's heritage.
