ITANAGAR, Feb 4: Governor Brig (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) presented Governor’s Citations to 27th Battalion of The Madras Regiment (27 MADRAS), 23rd Battalion of The JAT Regiment (23 JAT), 8th Battalion of The Sikh Light Infantry (8 SIKH LI) and 19th Battalion of Jammu & Kashmir Rifles (19 JAK Rif) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 4th February 2022. Colonel Sreejith P Menon, Commanding Officer, 27 MADRAS, Colonel Surendra Singh Dhillon, Commanding Officer, 23 JAT, Colonel Yash Pal Shyam, the Commanding Officer, 8 SIKH LI and Colonel Shailendra Singh, the Commanding Officer, 19 JAK Rif along with their Subedar Majors and their junior most Sepoys received the citation from the Governor.
The Governor commended these infantry battalions for their alert operational duty and good work in extending valuable help and assistance to the Civil Administration and the local population. He also appreciated the battalions for motivating the Arunachali youth towards education and entrepreneurship, voluntarily assisted the District Administration for conducting official functions and adopting the local schools and imparting skill development training and promoting women empowerment..
The Governor said that it is because of the preparedness and grit of these troops on the LAC on our Borders that our frontiers are safe. He said that it is the trust of the valiant soldiers amongst the people that every citizen feels secure.
