ITANAGAR , Oct 2: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) participated in the Gandhi Jayanti celebration at Raj Bhavan today. 
Brig. BD Mishra on Sunday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 153rd birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor urged the people to remember the Father of the Nation and also connect themselves with his ideology. He appealed to them to emulate the ideals and core values of Mahatma Gandhi and ensure that it reaches every nook and corner of Arunachal Pradesh. 
Brig Mishra  further said Gandhi ji's messages of cleanliness, education for all and healthy lifestyles are eternally good. It stands relevant today and will continue to be relevant. 
The Governor on the occasion also promoted cleanliness amongst the staff of Raj Bhavan as advocated by Mahatma Gandhi and presented ‘Cleanest Compound’ award to Shri Utuk Megu for cleanest compound. 
Apart from these, a plantation programme was also organised in the Raj Bhavan complex. The 
First Lady of the State Smt Neelam Misra also participated in the celebration and dedicated an audio visual documentary ‘Gandhi Ka Adarsh’ about principles of Mahatma Gandhi which was conceptualized, scripted and voiced by Smt. Misra herself.
