ITANAGAR, Jun 15: Governor Brig. (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) today paid homage to the brave soldiers of the country who made supreme sacrifice while defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation in Galwan Valley against Chinese intrusion on June 15 last year.
Recalling the supreme sacrifice of the soldiers of the 16th Battalion of Bihar Regiment led by Commanding Officer Col. B Santosh Babu, the Governor said that the sacrifice has not gone in vain. They fought gallantly and dropped many enemy soldiers dead and the nation proud recalls their contributions that keep India’s international boundary safe and secure, he said. Reposing his faith in the capability of the Indian armed forces, the Governor said that India under the current bold and determined political leadership is capable of defending itself against any threat.
I salute the martyrs for their courage, patriotism and supreme sacrifice while serving the nation and join the people of Arunachal Pradesh in paying gratitude to them and their family members, the Governor said in his message.
