ITANAGAR, Mar 17: Governor Brig. (Dr) B. D. Misha (Retd.) today inaugurated a ‘Pustakalaya’ (library-cum-activity facility) at the Government Primary School (GPS) in Raj Bhavan complex.
While observing that the project will promote knowledge and scientific temper among students, the Governor exhorted them to make full use of it. He also commended the Education Department for the initiative. As a token of love, the Governor and the First Lady Neelam Misra arranged refreshments for the students, teachers and staff of the school. Special Secretary (Primary Education) Soumya Saurabh, Special Secretary (Secondary Education) Shashvat Saurabh and officers from the Education Department were present on the occasion.
The project is an initiative to set up aesthetically designed, meaningful and functional libraries at the state’s primary schools for enhancing the reading habit and comprehension power of students. It is funded through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) route. PRO Raj Bhavan
