ITANAGAR, Nov 7: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.)  has greeted the people of the State, particularly the Sikh community on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. He expressed his hope that the occasion will strengthen the splendid spirit of unity in diversity in society.
In his message, the Governor said that Guru Nanak Dev ji showed all the path of peace, harmony and righteousness. Guru ji's teachings of love, compassion, truthfulness and sacrifice are of eternal relevance. His divine message of purity of thought, excellence of conduct and tolerant temperament is ever very essential to transform society for the better.
I pray that this blessed occasion inspires all my fellow citizens to imbibe Guru Nanak Dev ji’s noble teachings and rededicate to the cause of national unity and integrity, he said.
On this sacred occasion, I join my Sikh brethren in offering prayer to the great Guru Nanak Dev ji and Guru Granth Sahib for brotherhood, peace and prosperity in the society, the Governor said in his message.
