Itanagar, Apr 13: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He expressed hope that the occasion will inspire all to contribute towards an equitable society.
In his message, the Governor said that Dr. Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, was an eminent jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, who chaired the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly and was also the First Minister for Law and Justice of India. As the Chairman of the drafting Committee of the Indian Constitution, he was the key architect of the founding principles of Independent India. His efforts to eradicate social evils were remarkable. Throughout his life he worked for the uplift and rights of the marginalised classes, he said.
On his birth anniversary, I appeal to all to strive with sheer determination shown by Dr. Ambedkar and uphold the values and spirit of the Indian Constitution for development, progress and prosperity of society, State and Nation, the Governor said in his message.
